  • The Guittard Tapes I and II

    12 Aug 2014, 06:17 by Guittard

    The Guittard Tapes Volume 1
    The Guittard Tapes Volume 2

This group of songs collected dust for almost a decade. In 2012, I resurrected and mixed the songs from the misplaced 4-Track Tapes I had in storage boxes in Dallas, Texas since 2006 when I went into the Peace Corps in Bulgaria.
The tunes were all recorded in Los Angeles, California during the period 1999-2003. At that time, I was working on songs for my California Daze album. The songs I include on the Guittard Tapes were never released until now. You will find some alternate takes or early versions for a few California Daze songs: Beach and Jazz Tune.

Back then I was listening to the Byrds quite heavily and therefore many of the tunes are intentionally jangly with Rickenbacker sounds. I played the drums, bass, and even a sitar on the first track which was recorded 3 Weeks After 9-11. Other instruments I played were a 12 String Guild acoustic guitar, Fender Telecaster B-Bender, Dr. Groove Drum Machine, and various keyboards and percussion.
Notice also that there is a song called Election 2000 which is about the Bush/Gore Election.

    Here is the track list:
    1. 3 Weeks After 03:36
    2. Aliens 03:57
    3. Ordinary Guy 03:44
    4. Getting There Is Not So Easy 03:15
    5. Jingle Jangle Instrumental 02:44
    6. Batman 02:12
    7. Jazz Tune 2000 Demo 02:30
    8. Beach Original 02:06
    9. Station 03:02
    10. Election 2000 02:00
    11. Jangly Instrumental 04:09
    12. Psychedelic Consciousness 03:13
    13. Walkie-Talkie Experiment 02:59
    14. Are You Up Instrumental 02:48
    15. More Jangle 02:21
    16. Tremolo Instrumental 01:20

Ghost Ornithology is the second collaborative release as TEXTBEAK and TNDROND and is a follow up to 2012's The Spirit of Opposition (on I had An Accident Records). TNDROND is an acronym for the cult-like organization The New Deal Representatives of Northern Disco, which is an umbrella for Textbeak's musical collaborators including members of the 1954 crew and his band Bath. The name is a reference to the crew's usage of cold beats and atmospheres which are quite evident on this esoteric release that swims in icy waters between bass grooves and haunted skies. The title Ghost Ornithology is a nod to the arcane witch house warlock The Ceremonial Dagger and his Ghost Triangulations series of releases.

Ghost Ornithology opens with an unheard live in-studio one-take recording of "Watching Birds Fall" featuring deceased 1954 and Bath member Jason Adams (aka Agate) on synthesizers and Textbeak on vox. It also features two tracks from Voctave (aka Rob Ngy) in his cerebral funk style and three remixes of the Bath classic "The Folded Grin" (featuring Bath members Christie Elizabeth and Textbeak on vocals) by The Ceremonial Dagger (Black Bvs Records), Textbeak, and Voctave. Also included on this release is two versions of Textbeak's "Iris" including a chaotic glitch jazz edit by Andréas Marchal (of Vaatican Records France) in his Peter Percept guise.

  • I'm a new person!

    12 Jan 2014, 02:05 by archangelfilms

I'm a new person. I once dwindled in stage names and musical projects to occupy myself away from the Lord, Jesus Christ. Tonight is a new beginning for me, because I've been delivered out from Satan's grasp of temptation, for I have submitted myself in the grace of the Lord, Jesus Christ and am willing to serve him with the gift that He has given me, which is music. I have also decided to do away with the personas and the fursonas because they have also had a hold on me ever since I've started them. I am now a new person, and I now know more about God's love, mercy, and grace.

I am no longer John the Fox, for I am Christian Dickerson, and I know not only does God love me, but he loves everyone as well!

If you feel offended by what I've said in this post and feel the need to unfriend me, now is a good moment, for I am now focusing more on praising God for everything He has done.

    Thank you for reading,
    Christian
  • I need to share this with you people.

    10 Jan 2014, 00:14 by archangelfilms

Today, I had an interesting idea. Since I had done some pretty lame and pretty nasty stuff in the past, I'm deleting all my albums amd videos and start off on a clean slate. If you happened to not see any of my music (or yours if you have collaborated with me in the past) I have deleted it and I'm restarting not only my netlabel, but also my youtube channel as well. Sorry, but it's the best decision I've made yet, considering on how much lame stuff I've been uploading since 2009.

I know some people won't understand by this decision, but I feel a lot of peace in my heart, and I can guarantee you that in the future, I will make better, more structured music (especially songs/tracks praising the Lord, Jesus Christ)(btw, I am a Christian, as in a true believer in Jesus Christ.) Plus, I will make better videos and art for my youtube and deviantart accounts.

On top of that, I have also decided not to do the two video ideas I had in mind at this very moment, which was make a series of videos showing a lot of artists need recommeding, and a video about my favorite songs/tracks of all time, to which I'm seriously reconsidering what I'm listening to. (No, I'm not turning down the genre, noise, but for several other genres, I probably will stop listening to 'em.)

Thank you so, so much for reading, and I hope this change will be for the better.

    Sincerely,
    Christian AKA John the Fox

P.S.: I'm still willing to collaborate but I have to finish some musical projects first.
