    Language: Gloatre

    As surely many of you know, gloatre is the language used by Vordb on several part of his work. It's French with all the letters changed on an aesthetic base, based on the Vordb's calligraphy. I've worked on this a long time ago, founding some words. I will re-work on this soon. Here is a list of what I've found (plus some already known words from forums):

    Dvnaèbkre Zuèrkl Mogovtre = Dominance Funèbre Meurtre = Dominance(?) Funeral Murder
    BréNoritvreZorkre = Une Mauvaise Augure = A Bad Augur
    Éakr = Noir = Black
    Tsaévarya = Invincible
    Zurghtapre = Holocauste = Holocaust
    Borrarp = Attaque = Attack
    Goèbtre = Oeuvre = (Great) Work
    Uézréèvb = Honneur = Honor
    Dréagvor = Vengeur ou Ravageur = Avenger or Destructive
    Voarm = Hiver = Winter
    Murvurbre = Murmure = Whisper
    Vorzorgle = Novembre ou Violence = November or Violence
    Vérmyapre = Vampire
    Vèmyaprèb = Vampires
    Urvdrèn = Haine = Hate/Hatred
    Bèlkètre = Charogne = carrion
    Bèlkètraya = Charognard = carrion feeder

    (I don't know what really is the english translation for the two last ones, I used my little dictionary)

    Nice one, thanks. Now I am somewhat slightly less perplexed by it all.

  • Interesting, thanks for this.

    I guess Bélkétre means something like Promise, or that's what i have heard, dont remember where, so im not sure.

  • There is several mistakes. "avangeur" doesnt mean anything in French. The french term for Avenger is "vengeur".

    Are you sure Dvnaèbkre is Dominance?

    The thing is since Belketre was founded in Dordogne and since this is Countryside and they sometimes use a specific Dialect, maybe some words are from this dialect.

    Here is a translation of some words of this dialect to french...

    "...At some disputed barricade,
    When Spring comes back with rustling shade
    And apple-blossoms fill the air
    I have a rendezvous with Death
    When Spring brings back blue days and fair." - Alan Seeger

    Mon erreur, I'm too fast on the keyboard and it makes me do some stupids mistakes. Thank you very much for notifying. Et comme tu peux le voir, j'ai quand même beaucoup de mal à traduire en anglais. Pour ce qui est de comprendre la langue, je n'ai par contre aucun problème.

    Yes. It gives me only one 'option' and it was Dominance. Sometimes it gives me more, as Vorzorgle.

    Interesting thread! It would be interesting, if someone could translate Brenoritvrezorkre's song names.

    thanks !

  • I always wondered what the names of the bands were....just seemed like mumbo jumbo to me (despite the fact it is, without the translations).

    Antonín Dvořák, Non-Drinkers, and Kauan :) Join if you're interested :)

    Doing my best, but it's not enough haha... I just completed the second song. I forgot those lyrics at home, sorry.

  • What about the pronounciation? Are the letters pronounced like in french?

    [EDIT] Sorry I skipped some explanations of the first post, Snaghyrndr said : ''It's French with all the letters changed on an aesthetic base''. So I guess it is pronounced like french.

    Nobody can't because there's often too much differences for the same word, just because of the way Vordb wrote it. Zuèrl or Zuèrkle, Zurghtapre or Zurgtapre, with his calligraphy, I've seen all. Which don't help for knowing which are total bootlegs or not... Was this or this really the true covers of the demos? We'll probably never know anyway...
