Anyone in Nashville (area), Cincinnati, Chicago, Columbus OH, St Louis, Memphis, or Asheville NC (area) should check us out on tour: http://www.last.fm/user/doombilly/journal/2009/10/30/34f8ec_november_tour_2009 Sort of indie-post-punk-meets old R&B.

In a previous shout and/or post I put up a link to a pretty nice streaming recorder...Well this tops it all! This one is totally free and has more features than I can believe. The most important feature is the timer-record setting function ( under the Transport menu ). It doesn't matter what you listen to or where you get it from, even equipment hooked to the line in to you computer. WMMS in Cleveland is very good for me at 2AM while during the day it not my trip. So I have the line in from my receiver for that, but whether it's last.fm or Pandora, or LAUNCHcast this is really sweet...at least I think so. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ don't forget to navigate all around the site and get all the plug-ins like lame mp3 and VTS sorry Vista I haven't got Vista, so I can't say anything about that.

Anyone else notice the need for certain tracks to be normalized? What's up with 90% of the music being at one level and then all of a sudden a track that's quite a bit louder, then right back to the normal level? How to any of you get a message to the desired destination at last.fm concerning an issue such as this?

Here's something a lot of people would be interested in. http://www.sound-recorder.biz/freesoundrecorder.html I found a way to key he bundled editing software, so I kept it, but the recorder is too cool. Any audio editing software will do the trick for editing, but this recorder is the answer to a lot of people's dreams.

So grateful for the LC scrobbler... found it just over a month ago, and it's really eased my transition from LAUNCHcast. For me, I don't see much of a point in the new LC format, and I'll be working at bringing more of my Yahoo preferences over here

When this all began to come down I checked out Pandora and it was easy to create some sort of station by picking bands such as I did here. I will be tring all weekend to tweak this last.fm. I wonder if the levels will always need normalized and I wonder if the little bit of skipping I hear will continue. If this all works out I will subscribe in about 30 days.

Well I came over to last.fm from LAUNCHcast today. I was worried about the quality, but not anymore. I'm satisfied. I wanted to stay with LAUNCHcast and give it a fair shake, that didn't last more than about a week. I still like it, but as soon as I can figure out how to import my ratings I downloaded from Yahoo! using the ratings downloader posted on that group I will probably quit using LAUNCHcast. I feel bad about that but not bad enough to listen to Kid Rock and other bands I want to block. Can anyone email me and help me find out if I can import my Yahoo! Music LAUNCHcast ratings into last.fm? Now I see why you all jumped ship. If I can't simply import and pick up where I left off, then how do I add bands and songs to what I will hear on last.fm? I will just kind of start over if I have to, I just want it all and I want it now. I am an American..after all.

It seems like my scrobbler stopped working. I guess either the end of launchcast killed it, or I have to try reinstalling or something.

I'm confused...does the LCscrobbler play CBS launchcast or last.fm?

Fo derekdrew: When you rate a song with this scrobbler it does save with your master ratings at launch.com. I remember it was one of my concerns when I first used the scrobbler, but I checked and they do save.

I have a bad sense of context for how this works. Does it create a new database or just use the old LC database. I guess what I am wondering is if I save a new rating, it is saved only in the scrobbler or last.fm environment or is it saved where the master records of my ratings were previously saved at launch.com?

Today I posted a new version of LCScrobbler with an official pluginID. It should be working fine and ready for everyone to use. Again, you can download it here: http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/8/12/2046653/LCScrobbler.zip.

My new LAUNCHcast scrobbler (LCScrobbler) is now available for everyone to use. I'm still waiting on the last.fm admins to give it an official pluginID, but this version which uses the test ID works fine. In general it is pretty basic so PM or email me if you have feature requests or bug reports. Below is the URL to download it. Happy scrobbling! http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/8/12/2046653/LCScrobbler.zip

Does anyone have a copy of the Launchscrobbler available through http://www.13thlevelsupport.com/ylc/ ? The site hasn't worked for a while, and the Internet Archive seems to not work with that site either. I'm completely stuck!
