If all else fails Spotify at £5 a month no ads is pretty good.

Hey Pogo, Maybe that's because it was the 97th line...

Seems the extension is back. I messed up my computer trying to get the file with the 83rd line of computer code- through my own ignorance I hasten to add, looking for what I assumed was a hidden file. I ended up temporarily hiding all my files and still can't get back some of my temporary files in relation to Spotify. The bundled version of Word from Office starter seems to be kaput asking me to save a template file every time. Still the extension had become an essential adjunct to Last.fm so I'm delighted its working for me again.

didn't you want to update this addon anytime soon when will it happpen? its still pretty awsome

Much like the rest of life, enjoy the good stuff as much as you can for as long as you can. I too can concede that my interest in Last.fm has greatly increased solely because of this extension. It's also the main reason I switched to Chrome. As great as the extension is to use, I can only imagine the effort logged in to make it work. No reason to deny the threats, but the ship it still very much afloat at this point and time. And as a music junkie, I couldn't be more thankful.

Seriously- if not for the arrangement here at the LFMFMP, Lastfm would be pretty much a dud. I wasn't kidding. It would be catastrophic to me- and many others. But there is not one thing I can do about it. It has been a gift from day one, and I appreciate it immensely.

---worse than when my cousin told me there was no Santa Claus, and that has been a while... That is one musical weather report I hoped I would never hear. Ominous and foreboding indeed. Capitalism rages on. I want my mama...:(

So, it seems to be all fixed now but what still amazes me is that some decent people here have gone to the trouble of finding that "mistake" in the 97th line of a java script somewhere in our computers... and then made it public. I take my hat off and bow gracefully to you

Dummmy version again. It worked for me: 1. open C drive 2. find the USERS folder [open] 3, find the folder with YOUR name on it [open] 4 .open the APP data folder 5. open the 'Local' folder 6. open the Google folder 7. open the CHROME folder 8.open the 'user data' folder 9. open the 'Default' folder 10. open the 'extensions' folder 11. on the list find the one that starts with : bbncpldma (that is the current player) open that up. It's up near the top on my list. 12. that opens a folder 2.9.68_0 12 then click on 'java script' 13 then locate 'content script' right click on it then select 'Edit' that opens the script file. 14 Go almost to the bottom until you find 'functions initialize Port' that is where the line is that needs to be corrected. Copy and paste, close the script. found "port = chrome.extension.connect({name: "page", reconnect:port_initialized})" pasted "port = chrome.extension.connect({name: "page"})"

    "to bring the blue button back! In the file content_script.js, change the 97th line to: port = chrome.extension.connect({name: "page"}) This can be found as follows: # Win XP: "C:\Documents and Settings\*UserName*\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\bbncpldmanoknoahidbgmkgobgmhnafh\2.9.68_0\javascript\content_script.js" # Win 7: "C:\Users\*UserName*\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\bbncpldmanoknoahidbgmkgobgmhnafh\2.9.68_0\javascript\content_script.js" # Linux: "~/.config/google-chrome/Default/Extensions/bbncpldmanoknoahidbgmkgobgmhnafh/2.9.68_0/javascript/content_script.js" # Mac OS: "/Users/*UserName*/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default/Extensions/2.9.68_0/javascript/content_script.js" - this works for me. thanks XCellsior! : )

went back one which put me directly in AppData, then had to do a search for "content_script.js"...found it, right clicked, found "port = chrome.extension.connect({name: "page", reconnect:port_initialized})" pasted "port = chrome.extension.connect({name: "page"})" over it but don't know what to do now? Do I "X" out or click file then save? Forgive ignorance but what do I do to make it work?
