4 minutes for 21 API calls?

I'm making a simple PHP application that makes about 20 calls to the user.getrecenttracks method and one to user.getshouts, all of which are limited at the max 200 records. These calls take about four minutes total. I have a non-commercial key. Does anyone know whether calls with a non-commercial key are much slower than with a commercial key?

i don't think your API key has anything to do with it. i've tested library.gettracks fetching a user's entire library with a 100 results per page and hundreds of pages in less time than that.

I think you should use tools like traceroute to find out where it is becoming slow
