    1.0.1 Released

    A ceaseless attack by the team has resulted in 1.0.1. Fixes include:

    * Crash fixes
    * Most activity states are saved when changing orientation and changing tasks
    * Better radio error handling
    * Better resilience when playing in the background
    * Adjust music volume at all times on the radio player activity
    * Fade the music back in after receiving a call
    * Some UI tweaks

    Now available in the Android Marketplace.

    Feedback very welcome :) Thanks.

  • Love the app dude thanks so much. Better than the iPhone app because of background playback but I have one request, a lower quality version playing over EDGE for faster playback. Since I am unlocked on AT&T (no t-mo coverage) I can't get 3G and also for everyone who doesn't have T-Mo 3G (very limited coverage). Whats funny though is AT&T 3G is 15 miles away but I can't get it on my G1 :(

    Re-encoding our lotta-terrabyte mp3 store is not something we can do easily. But we are considering it.

    Very nice. Is there a way to clear your Recent Stations?

    Also, are you considering adding the ability to use the app as your main Media Player for the phone? That would be amazing. You can listen to music that is stored on your SD on the player as well as it scrobbling to Last.Fm.

    1.0.2

    The auto-notification works well - so what's new in 1.0.2?

    I would love to see background downloading of the next track like imeem does. That allows me to listen to music without a buffering delay. The current buffering delay makes listening to last.fm on the go absolutely atrocious. I have to be on 3g (which I don't have yet) or Wifi (which i don't have at work or in my car..) to get a good experience from last.fm

    Basically, it's not possible. Our streamers deliberately only allow one mp3 download per login, so we can only start downloading when the first one has finished.

    This does give us 12 seconds of buffer at the track end to start. But Android's media player library is extremely basic and doesn't tell us when buffering has finished.

    We could try to start at about 10 seconds before track end, maybe we can experiment.

    Really Hard to Stop the App, and some Notes from a Fan

    I love the application, first of all. The interface is one of the slickest, most well-realized interfaces on the platform.

    Secondly, as you know, the application tends to send itself into an endless buffering cycle, and pressing the "back" button on the hardware, followed by exiting the app doesn't seem to stop it from still trying to load the next track some number of minutes later.

    I often want to be able to give up on the application and move on to other chores, so it's frustrating when I think I've exited for it to start blaring some new song after I've long-forgotten that I was trying to play anything.

    Also, your application icon is attractive, but not built to standard. I'm attaching one that I made for my own copy of the application, so that it matches the other apps on my screen, as a suggestion of direction for some future version.

    Is it true that the application does not make use of Wi-Fi? I have great Wi-Fi reception at work and home, but the application never seems to make use of it -- opting instead to try to buffer tracks over Edge or 3G that is pretty unreliable in my area.

    Single connection limits on streamers

    If the servers have a limit of a single connection per IP address, how's about this as a solution: Drop that restriction.

    I'm aware that you'd never want to be in a situation where that allowed two completely simultaneous downloads, but you *could* allow the second connection to begin streaming content if the first one was within the last 5% of the total bytes to be transferred.

  • Multiple artists in the radio

    Great app! Would be nice if I was able to create a radio with several artists, tags. It's possible on the web player now.
