    Thanks for the notice, Tarkus

Just joined this group today. I haven't been very active on in general....maybe I need to get my ass in gear.

Thanks to your PMs, though, I am now on a King's X rediscovery! Playing all the MP3s I have as well as a bunch of Ty Tabor side projects (solo, Jughead, Jelly Jam, etc...). Also glad to see that Porcupine Tree is well-represented on the track listing for this group. Yet another under-appreciated band.

  • Thanks for the props, and welcome to the group!

Every time I listen to King's X, I'm amazed that they were never more mainstream. Because although they've been progressive, they seem very accessible to me.

I also share your opinion of Porcupine Tree, though I find them less accessible, so their lack of popularity makes more sense to me.

    Porcupine Tree - under-appreciated?

I don't know, they're fairly big in the UK. Not on the radio much, admittedly, but a sizeable cult fanbase. They seem to be well represented on too.
