Kate Ryan (Tessenderlo July 22, 1980), born as Katrien Verbeeck, is a Belgian singer/songwriter who gained international prominence with a cover of Mylène Farmer's Désenchantée, which was a hit on European pop charts. She signed with EMI Belgium, and her latest album, Stronger, was released in 2004 and was her first album released in the United States. She made two albums so far in her career; her first one was labelled Different and was released in 2002, but only in Europe. Her second album, which was released in Europe in 2004, was labelled Stronger. Its North American version was released in 2005. In 2006 she will represent Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006, singing "Je t'adore".
