    If anyone fancies...A night of tribute to one of the world’s most loved songwriters; John Martyn. To celebrate an incredible music career, a collection of today’s top London based songwriters & artists will be performing interpretations of their favourite John Martyn songs on the eve of his birthday. All proceeds will be donated to The Music Therapy Charity(Registered Charity No. 259077) and South London based charity for the homeless and disadvantaged; Spires (Registered Charity No. 1076888.) The line up includes: Jamie Woon, Kate Westall, Sam Lewis, Gary Poole, Ben Huws, Francesca Guarino and Blue Rose Code. Doors open at 7pm on Thursday 10th September 2009 in the Theatre at The Bedford, Balham.     I have so many happy memories of sitting crossed legged and mesmorized while you did the warm up at Sheffield Uni gigs in the e1970s. Later your music rocked Brighton. You are sadly missed, but remembered with every song.
