John Hiatt is an American musician with a growing following, who gets airplay on alternative radio stations.
He has played a variety of styles, including new wave, rock and roll, blues and country.

Though he has achieved modest mainstream fame as a performing and recording artist since he debuted as a solo artist in 1974, Hiatt's songs have been covered by Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop, Nick Lowe, Neville Brothers, Emmylou Harris, Three Dog Night, Dr. Feelgood, Bonnie Raitt, Joan Baez, Ronnie Milsap, Willie Nelson,
B.B. King with Eric Clapton, Kevin Welch, Paula Abdul, Jimmy Buffett, Jewel, and Mandy Moore.

His first album to chart at all was Bring The Family (1987).
He continues to gain fame as a respected songwriter and performer into the present.

Haven't been around LastFM in a bit, but am back. Ready to discover new (to me) music. Hiatt is my #1! He's such a showman on the stage and always brings it! Did anyone catch him and Lyle on Letterman last week (2/4/09)

John Hiatt never bores me, every song is an adventure, and his live show, wiht him and a guitar, was the best concert I've ever been to. What an amazing performer.
