    Artist Connections

Don't you think a group like ours needs artist connections..? If you do, tell the rest of us.

    What about..

    ..The White Stripes
    ..Neil Young
    ..Holly Golightly
    ..Tom Waits
    ..Iggy Pop

    ..?

  • Hi i agree if you are going to have a jim jarmusch group in a music site you need artist connections. I would include all the above and John Lurie(Stranger than Paradise and Down By Law) and Joe Strummer (Mystery Train). There is obviously others but they seem the important ommissions.

  • mmm maybe even RZA and GZA/Geniusfrom the Wu-Tang Clan

  • What about Screaming Jay Hawkins and Neil Young then?

And how come The Del-Byzanteens still aren't mentioned? C'mon... it was Jim's band :)

Screamin Jay Hawkins (Mystery Train)My fav'e line in Stranger Than Paradise where I Put a Spell on You is the only recorded music Eva seems to have (played several times), which seems oddly sophisticated for a fresh arrival from Hungary - Ian

I'll just second these fine suggestions.

This comment is an insidious yet disorganized attempt to tear down your
old mental paradigms without offering anything with which to replace them

One of the best song that I ever heard :D

  • Artist connections should definitely include Jim's own band Bad Rabbit and Boris who feature heavily on the soundtrack to The Limits of Control.

I used to care but things have changed.
  • Elvis Presley (Mystery Train)
    Johnny Depp
    Roberto Benigni
    Steve Buscemi
    Winona Ryder
    [The Raconteurs (Jack white)]
    [The Death Weather (Jack White]

Obviously you have to include the bands Jarmusch has been in: The Del-Byzanteens and Bad Rabbits.

There's also the soundtrack to Limits of Control and Broken Flowers, featuring Boris, Sleep, and so much more good music...

Joe Strummer is mentioned but what about The Clash?
In an interview Jarmusch said that The Clash had the best collection of music than any other artist! He is also friends with Mick Jones and Paul Simonon of The Clash not just with Strummer. He directed a Big Audio Dynamite video. Wouldn't that make them a related artist as well?
