    Japan iTunes Store

I've been lucky enough to have received a Japan iTunes gift certificate which I'm looking forward to spending on some wonderful new music. I have a few ideas but I'm looking for some good recommendations for things that can't easily be found in the US iTunes store or otherwise here in the States. I listen to a bit of everything as I'm sure we all do but I'm mainly focused on breaks, IDM and some experimental (in that order). Also, feel free to add any indie, post-rock or underground hip-hop recommendations as well. That should leave things kind of wide open. Any details about the band and/or album would be helpful and at the very least, the style of music would be appreciated.

  • You should check out the Japanese electronic music selection at HearJapan (http://www.hearjapan.com/store/genre?genre=12&sortby=1) with detailed description about each artist and album. I think the new Ametstub album is really good: http://www.hearjapan.com/store/album_info/The_Nothings_of_The_North

Looks like a great place to browse around and find some new music.

I checked out Ametsub and The Nothings of the North is a lovely little cut up, glitchy album. Exactly the kind of stuff I like. Thanks for the tip. By the way... I found it on iTunes in the US store and bought it.
