Jamie Foxx is an American actor and singer. His real name is Eric Marlon Bishop. He was born 13th December 1967 in Terrell, Texas. He was raised by his grandparents who adopted him when he was young. He played football as a quarterback in high school and was good enough to get to the Dallas newspapers. He studied music in college.
He started his career as a stand up comedian. He had his own talk show The Jamie Foxx Show in 1996. Foxx made his film debut in the comedy Toys in 1992. Foxx was the second male who received two acting Oscar nominations from two different movies in the same year: Collateral and Ray.
He is known from the movies Stealth, Jarhead, The Kingdom, Miami Vice and Dreamgirls. He has won several awards and nominations.
