Jacques Derrida is the solo moniker of New York City-based recording artist, Carter Maness. Maness is a co-owner of Proyekto Records. Soundwise, the Jacques Derrida material represents a narcotic dance music - slow, pulsating and ambient with dark lyrics that blur together like background scenery in a bad photograph. Carter Maness has released two singles as Jacques Derrida in 2007 - “My Son is Gay?” and “You Don’t Know my Stilo.” He also routinely posts 2-3 songs a week on the Proyekto blog.
