Are you a pretentious indie-cunt hipster?
Well, you most likely got to this page by searching "indie" in the given box. If that’s the case, it’s too late, don’t even bother, you’ll never be...

If you are still reading, then you’re plainly too ambitious to give up or to succeed. Since you won’t just give up, I recommend adopting indie-hipster mannerisms and dress in a mocking way, like some kind of annoying hipster douchebag. The key point here is to spend tons of time making sure it looks like you don’t waste any time on your appearance. Concentrating the most on not concentrating when attending parties.
Except “key points” are some kind of powerpoint corporate bullshit.
You need authenticity to consider yourself at our standards. Stupid questions like “what is authenticity” are not authentic. Knowing about a band before everyone else is part of it, "but the whole band thing is kind of over, you know, I’m only listening to solo artists right now." Trying too hard. You somehow have to listen to everything.
This community is not for sharing cool new indie artists because it wouldn't be hip if we all shared our thoughts and ideas. Instead, one must continuously lurk and find similar artists and take those artists and never, ever, admit it. Press the fucking back button if you are even considering using "iTunes" or "Limewire" to get any of this music anyways. If you don't know how to torrent, or find underground sharing communities, you aren't indie and you need to get off the internet anyways. If someone asks you if you've listen to "so-and-so", you would reply, "Oh, I've heard of them, but never listened" and then go listen, even if you have never really heard, but neither of us will ever admit that.
Become musically eclectic and liberal and stylish or fall victim to our criticism.
Can you win the hipster standoff?
No.
