A group for people who feel foreign in the present world and think they would rather fit into the modern age, the renaissance or even the middle ages.

Actually, if your interest is classical music, now is the perfect time to be alive, because all this wonderful music is now available in recorded format and can be listened to at any time.

you guys DO realize that in Medieval you would most likely be the real 99% , which means being a poor , hard-working peasant who would never see the world beyond his village (or the nearest town, maybe) and die in his 30's? modern times suck, but the past sucked much more.

I 'm the exact opposite from you folks. I wish I was born 1,000,000 years in the future. I mean why would anyone want go back in a cave to live along with stinky insects, rats and bats? Logic.

I also have a favourite period in history, it is from the end of the 19th century to about the 1920s but just for its culture, and because of my favourite poet Ady Endre, who lived in that time (1877 to 1919). I know that a lot of people imagine what it would be if he/she lived his/her life in an other era. But we have to face the fact that people were just the same and there were also good and bad periods in every century. So - not just because we don't have an other chance - we have to try living our life in this time, in the 21st century. Of course it doesn't mean that we can't adore artists from past centuries. Live in the present, try to find people who are similar to you (e.g. in music, in social life) mix the things together from every era you like (e.g. a person's or a group point of view) and incorporate some of them into your ideology if you want. :)

@SirLawrenceMcR: What a naíve view. You probably haven't read how the standard of living, diseases etc were in the Middle Ages. Average life expectancy was in the 30's. And even kings didn't have most things that even today's poor people take for granted: cars, wireless communication, medicine that actually works. And the Middle Ages were the age of religious bigotry, where church ruled the society and suppressed free thinking and science. I think the Age of Enlightenment which got us out of it was one of the best things that has happened to humanity. If you think religion should rule the society, go live in Saudi-Arabia. Despite these facts, I like medieval music.
