I have a ton o' soundtracks in my collection. Would have more, if they were available (Perry Mason immediately comes to mind)... and I had the money to buy them. Here are a few of my favorites:

    - Perry Mason
    - Lost in Space
    - Peter Gunn
    - Without a Trace
    - Alias
    - Inspector Morse
    - Cowboy Bebop
    - Mission: Impossible
    - Midsomer Murders
    - Life on Mars (UK & US)
    - Babylon 5

    - Blade Runner (both versions: Vangelis' and The New American Orchestra's)
    - Pirates of the Caribbean
    - Star Wars (movie series)
    - Beetlejuice
    - Until the End of the World
    - Dune
    - The Witches of Eastwick
    - The Princess Bride
    - The Blues Brothers
    - The Commitments
    - The Fabulous Baker Boys
    - The Conversation
    - Swing Kids
    - Ray
    - The Matador

Most any soundtrack by Danny Elfman, Ennio Morricone or Lalo Schifrin.

The Oh Brother Where Art Thou? soundtrack reminds me of being little and my dad playing it in the car. I also adore the Purple Rain, Saturday Night Fever, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Dazed and Confused, and Grease soundtracks.

@PoodleGirl: Those are some great selections, especially O Brother Where Art Thou? Great movie, too. I can't even begin to count the number of Rocky Horror Picture Show midnight movies I've attended. Craaazy! And Dazed and Confused was like a documentary of my high school daze. I'd have to add those to my list of favorites, too.

Another midnight movie favorite with a great soundtrack is Easy Rider. Also, does Woodstock count as a soundtrack? The movie was about a concert. Hmmm....

And I forgot to mention American Graffiti, Ralph Bakshi's American Pop, Heavy Metal, Ball of Fire (and its remake, A Song is Born), The Benny Goodman Story, The Glenn Miller Story and The Gene Krupa Story. There are soooo many....

I recently got hold of the Complete Recordings of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring by Howard Shore. Absolutely fantastic to listen to.

  • I tend to fall in love with soundtracks that are left unreleased, so have to spend ages online searching for them. :(
The soundtracks I like are Noel (Alan Menken), Love Actually (Craig Armstrong), While You Were Sleeping (Randy Edelman), Mighty Joe Young (James Horner), and 30 Rock (Jeff Richmond).
