Most purchases are from Bandcamp. These ones I remember: Kalle Matson, Caballero Reynaldo, ZAPPATiKA & The Dirty Denims. And Ummagma is worth checking out too.

I wish the new artist pages on last.fm supported Bandcamp as well, instead of defaulting to iTunes and Amazon...

I recently bought one of Daisy Chapman's albums through her Bandcamp, and preordered her new album directly from her site: http://www.daisychapman.com/shop/

@Nakkinak: It doesn't take just a record label to make a high quality recording, these days.

that cartoon ignores what music industry and record label do. well, the music industry does neither, but I personally think that record labels and their possibilities are still needed to produce well-produced 'products'. But lo-fi is fine too lol

Some artists do not have very comprehensive bandcamp sites or webstores. However, they just offer the possibility to support them directly. For example Keith Kenniff (Helios, Goldmund, Mint Julep) has a webstore too, but you could just as well soulseek his music, then go to http://www.unseen-music.com/albums/free/ and donate him.

iTunes Store, Google Music, Spotify not allowed in russia. We use torrents. It's bad, but I don't know ways to buy music directly from the artist.

I stopped Pete Townshend on the street to ask if he had any spare White City on hand, and he blew me off! This concept, idealistic though it is, has no future.

I am sorry; call me very old fashioned but I still prefer to purchase a cd in a nice shop where you can have a face-to-face talk with the owner. Purchased the new xx and a tangerine dream comp in Namur like that last saturday and I had a wonderful time. + my eyes weren't sore from staring at a PC. Please, make sure some small shops like those remain...
