  What is the point of this group? I hear you and wholeheartedly agree with objecting to label everything indie that isn't on MTV. But when I read Beatles, Radiohead, Massive Attack, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin being the Top 5 Artists in this group it occurs to me that indie means squid all to you.

  'indie' is just a generic catch-all term for people who don't know two squirts of piss about music. the argument that indie is a genre is nothing more than asinine, hipster jargon. please, enlighten me on what sound comprises a band's 'indieness.' in fact, no, i know the answer. anything that doesn't sound like typical Top 40 BS.

  no, it is a genre now, it doesnt mean independent anymore, .... like how pop came from the word popular (not all pop is popular)... i think that a band's sound determines its indieness... but whatever i came up wit that conclusion just now...... i mean are you gonna call some cyberpornogrind band indie just because its independent dood
