    Script: Last.fm torrent links

    Hi guys,

    Made this today.

    http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/2817/screenshotrd5.jpg

    Once the page loads, it retrieves a list of related torrents from mininova.org, then adds them to a table on the page, above the 'Top Albums' bit, it's designed to look like an official last.fm feature.

    I got sick of those scripts that just added links to a search, so I took it a step further!

    Is there any interest in this script? If so, I'll give a link to the source.

    Tom.

    Wow thats pretty cool, would you be able to use it for different sites not just mininova.org?

  • That's looks cool. Link, please?

  • Although I'm not really a torrent chick, I'm interested.

    Sorry guys, I've been on vacation. I'll comment the source code then post.

    At the moment, it is just mininova, as the layout is simple and the DOM is easy to read, compared with say, Torrentspy.

    Changing the source however, would not be THAT big an undertaking. The Pirate Bay would be a more desirable source because the servers are much faster compared to Mininova.

    I've also changed it slightly, so now if you are looking at an album page, it will search for JUST that album. Only torrents that have seeders and are bigger than 30mb show up in the list.

    Feedback, comments and criticism are all welcome.

  • Very cool! The busy graphic is a nice touch (needed, since it seems to take so long).

    None of the links are working for me (404), but maybe Mininova is having a problem now?

    Thanks. :)

    This was a typo in the script, the links actually go to minonova.org instead of mininova.

    I'm off to fix this at userscripts.org...

    Update: it's fixed at userscripts.org...

    Also, a question. Would you guys rather the links go to the details page on mininova, or just a direct link to the torrent itself?

    why not do both. Say a main link to the mininova page and an icon to download directly?

    BTW - script added to the overview page.

  • Thanks for the update.

    If it's one or the other, I'd rather have a link to details. I don't like direct links before I know exactly what I'm getting.

    you can click on it and there should be an option to see the script. You can see the source text there, if that'll put your mind at ease.

  • That's not what I meant. I meant if you're going to either link to the torrent details or to the torrent itself, I'd rather link to the details, and then download the torrent from there.

    For Mininova to come back online so I can do some testing... (I have the direct icon link code ready...)

    We've got a problem.

    Mininova run checks on the referring site.

    You will only actually get the torrent file IF:
    * The referrer is blank
    * The referrer is mininova.org

    As the referrer will be set to last.fm, it just directs us to the torrent info page.

    Try for yourself.

    I am not sure, but it would be advisable to uninstall the old version.
