About Gob
Vancouver’s Gob became an international story and earned Canadian Gold with their 2001 album “The World According to Gob”, demonstrating that Gob is a punk band with exceptional song writing skills, and a strong ability to connect with a wide audience.

Their new album, “Muertos Vivos”, features their strongest material yet. Comprised of founding members Theo Goutzinakis and Tom Thacker plus Gabe Mantle and Steven Fairweather, Gob has earned its reputation based in equal parts on a great live performance and truly smart songs that leave a lasting imprint. There are plenty of tracks on “Muertos Vivos” that promise to be fan favorites, from the war cry of the first single “We’re all Dying”, to the searing “Underground” and the anthem-like “Banshee Song”.

I did like their more serious music as well, but I also really enjoyed the somewhat less serious stuff as well. And I did hear about Tom playing with Sum 41! I heard that both groups were, (with a lack of a better name to call it) "band buds," so it doesn't surprise me.

Oh, and whatever they decide to do with their sound, I certainly hope they will stick to this slightly more dark, yet most importantly, serious lyrical content.

I'm a fan of the Muertos Vivos sound myself. It wasn't a perfect record, but with some of the elements from their earlier albums combined to MV I can see a perfect Gob album happening. But yeah, I'm sure the guys know what they're doing and all. :) Tom most likely is inspired by his Sum 41 stuff, so it'll be interesting to see if any of that is hearable on the next album as well.

Yeah me too. Hopefully they do something like stuff on Too Late and Foot In Mouth on it. That would propably be the best Gob album then. But like you said, it's pretty unreal that they'd bring back their early sound to it. But a return to Foot In Mouth/World According sound is pretty possible.

I'm really wondering what direction they'll take with their new album. Although I doubt they will go all the way back to their early stuff, I'd really enjoy a album like both Foot In Mouth Disease and Muertos Vivos.
