Tug-O'-War!

  • Tug-O'-War!

Quoted from the wikipedia main entry on the subject:

"The origins of tug of war are not clearly known, though they must be very old."

I am not sure how well this will do, but hell, let the Last.fm tug-of-wars commence! To make sure the thread stays interesting, I think we can handle three games at a time, and when one team wins, I will update this initial post to commemorate the chamions and someone can suggest a new 'war' or possibly a rematch if there is call for it. It might sound odd, but it is easy enough once underway. The rules:

    • From an initial 50 point start, contribute +2 or -2 and adjust the playing field to 'pull' for your team's cause (or keep the score the same if you wish to abstain from that match. Even if you abstain, carry over the score in your post). When one team reaches 0 or 100, the match is over.
    • There must be at least one poster before you can post again.
    • Copy and paste the name of the war to avoid confusion each posting.
    • Mind games and trash talk are acceptable, nigh, encouraged. Because everyone knows they always work.

    Current games:

Simply Red vs. Paint it Black (Red Last.fm banner: -2 vs. Black last.fm banner: +2)

Sleep late vs. Wake up early (Preference to sleep in: -2 vs. seizing the day: +2)

Youth vs. Mature (younger than 30: -2 vs. older than or equal to 30: +2)

    WINNERS CIRCLE:

Men vs. Women: 0-1 (Men vs. Women)

Youth vs. Mature: 0-2 (age equal to or less than 21 vs. age greater than 21)

Europe vs. The World: 0-1 (Current residence in Europe vs. Current Residence anywhere other than Europe)

Dog vs. Cat: 0-1 ("dog persons" vs. "cat persons")

Monsters vs. Aliens: 0-1 (penchant for monsters vs. a penchant for aliens)

Early Bird vs. Night Owl: 0-1 (wake with the sun or still out at dawn from the night before)

We need suggestions for other matches!

I am glad the game is taking so well! Would love to hear some suggestions for alternative matches. Was thinking of "United States vs. The World" but changed it to "Europe" partially because I thought it would be a bit more even and partially because I think everyone has had enough of America vs. The World.

This might work a bit better if the scores are displayed on both sides.
