¡Viva La Revolution!

I've pressed the politics button. Our leader has not been around since March 04. I think, we need to gather a majority within a month, for the revolution to succeed.

Please press the button yourselves, then post here. Then we can divide the other less active members, amongst us, and send then all a message.

    ¡Vva La Revolution! - Ian

  • I revolted too. I hope we get this group back on its feet within the month.

  • revolucion!

i'm with it... this group has great potential.

    Troop Rallying Message

zephirnl & alfredo5, thanx for pressing the button. Here's where I ask a little more of you.

As things are going, it looks like the revolution will flounder, because a revolution must be supported by about a third of the membership (within a month), to go ahead. So I've drafted a letter, do be sent to other members and try to engage them.

I'll send this out to the members who are also subscribers. I'd like help from each of you, in sending the message to the remainder of the membership. Remember, non-subscribers only and please post on this thread, sating which member pages you intend to do, so we avoid spamming folk, with duplicates.

Funk, Soul, Disco, Rare Groove - ¡Viva La Revolution!

Hi fellow Funk, Soul, Disco, Rare Groove fan -

I apologise, in advance, for the impersonal nature of this message, but its to be sent out to all members of the Funk, Soul, Disco, Rare Groove group.

As a member of the Funk, Soul, Disco, Rare Groove, you may've noticed that the group is very quiet, there's no group picture and, if you're tried to share one of your journals with the group, its not been accepted. The current leader of the group, andhidingaway, seems to no longer by an active Last.FM user, in that his profile say "last played a track in March 2004".

Whilst this remains the case, there will be no group picture, there will be no group journal, there will be no new country/label/artists connections and, if a badly behaved member were to insist on spamming the forum or recommendations, there would be no way to remove them. If the group remains lacking, in these areas, it will lead to the gradual demise of the group, interaction between members will be low, existing members may drift away and new joiners will be few.

In an attempt to prevent this from happening, there has been a call to revolution. The aim of the revolution is to force elections for a new leader and, lets face it, almost any leader would be better than one who does not participate for over eighteen months.

So, please, come an join the revolution (before 15 Mar 06)!

    IanAR :

I sent out the letter to the first 2 pages of members who are users (and had a significant amount of activity on last.fm). In my enthusiasm to send the letter out, I also inadvertently sent it to andhidingaway. Here's the complete list of people that I sent to:

Another thing: I sent the letter out without the hyperlinks to the politics tab... I didn't realize til after I sent it out though... Hopefully enough people know how navigate there. This is all I can do for right now. I realize that the deadline is tomorrow so I may try to send more out later when I have time...
