Spotify took a step backwards. The tagging is worse and can't be fixed in local files. In the past, I was able to alter song titles in local files. [2] Same. Can you guys please suggest a correction this to Oops!...I Did It Again: http://www.last.fm/music/Britney+Spears/_/Oops!...I+Did+It+Again+-+Remastered

I wish Spotify would use musicbrainz or discogs database to tag their catalog.

What about Pink Floyd's High Hopes ? There are several strange tags with remastered. I guess it would be great to call it just High Hopes

Every house track on spotify has TRACKNAME - ORIGINAL MIX . Shouldn't it be TRACKNAME (ORIGINAL MIX)??? This fucks up my library :(

And what is with Pink Floyd - Animals [2011 - Remaster] (2011 Remastered Version). No one gives a crap, let alone having it on there twice

I imported an album that I had onto Spotify, that wasn't available to me on Spotify. Spotify "linked" all the tracks to their database, which mistagged the album and I didn't notice until way later.

Please keep in mind that Spotify does not actually tag anything, nor do they have the ability to change tags. Correct tagging of artists, albums, etc.... is the responsibility labels, artists and aggregators. You can submit requests for corrections here and they will forward them to one of the aforementioned parties. In the meantime, just vote to auto-correct and PLEASE DO NOT use those horrible, ugly "fix your tags" images!

Spotify offers a half-official way to submit wrong tags on their community forum: http://community.spotify.com/t5/Newcomers-and-Contribution/Want-to-help-report-metadata-errors-Post-here/td-p/768631

Spotify tags 99% of all Asian artists wrong. I understand that it's not possible/convenient for everyone to use people's proper character names and song titles in the search or whatever, but they could come up with a SLIGHTLY better system, I think.... Anyone help me vote to correct this artist tag?

These 'Remastered Album Version' and 'Single Version' phrases being part of the actual song title is really starting to bug me. I was hoping there was an option like, say, 'Scrobble This Track as...' or 'Merge these tracks...' Is that too much to ask?

Some of my favorite albums, I simply refuse to play them on Spotify because of the horrible tagging and how it will reflect on my Last.fm charts. A few from the top of my head: Pretty much every Joy Division track, many Brian Eno tracks, The Velvet Underground & Nico album, everything from Godspeed You! Black Emperor is fucked up. It's really annoying, because otherwise, Spotify is a great service.

Spotify is run by a staff of anal retentive corporate androids who tag artists and songs in a totally retarded manner. I don't want Talking Heads – Crosseyed and Painless (2005 remaster) I just want Talking Heads – Crosseyed and Painless...is it so hard to fix? Similarly with featured artists, why add them in the song title?!?! Apart from mindless tagging spotify is OK

does tagging an artist in lastfm (I manage http://www.last.fm/music/Hugh+Doolan -) help to get album releases on spotify included in artist radio. I noticed that cos I was identified with 'similar artists' like Kodiak, possibly due to the way I tagged myself, I appear in their artist radio playlist in spotify. This is great but I have other soundtrack instrumental stuff for a new album: http://open.spotify.com/album/6fsBGsWgFQFLwWDk4C8pGs Do I just need to re-tag the artist(me!!) with references to 'composer' 'soundtrack' etc. and maybe names like cliff martinez, hans zimmer or whoever, to stand a chance of getting them or others listed as a similar artist and thus featured in artist (or genre) radio? Thanks, I know it's a bit of a round-about question but hope someone out there can shed light on this

Does anyone know of a way to correct album titles? Spotify messed up the album name of Rob Lane's music for the Merlin TV serials: http://open.spotify.com/album/1XAgC74Omoyqrv8bNItXlq -- It should be something along the lines of "Merlin: Series Two (Original Television Soundtrack)" instead of "Emma (Music from the BBC Television Series)."

  • Hal89

At least spotify gets tags more or less correct for tracks made by several artists, even giving them separate tags. When scrobbling them, what is picked up is only the first artist in the string. Scrobbling from other sources you even get: The Source, An-ten-nae My eyes...

Last.fm could solve the problem so easily by automatically redirecting tags that you yourself had suggested a correction for to the right page. It would solve this whole problem and would probably take about 30 minutes of their time. It's a shame that they gave up on caring about functionality and just started caring about revenue.
