• CONTEST THIS!!!!!!

    16 Jan 2008, 09:59 by FOWLmusic

Alright, I forgot all about a contest I started when this song was first recorded that no-one ever collected on, it's not as easy as it SOUNDS! In the song Arc there is a quoting of a Christmass related song. (I know this is a little late but what the hell.) The first person to name the song quoted gets a free copy of my cd InaStorMental!!!!!
The quote is quite obfuscated though! Contest going on five years now! Come on, someone kill this one!

Hey all. I've added another free album to my lastfm page, this is available for free currently. Possiprobability is the first FOWL cd in existance. Recorded in the first two weeks of having recording equipment, it showcases the joy of discovering I can actually play with myself! Featuring what I consider to be the only experimental album I've released (because I really had no idea what these would sound like) it is brimming with the thrill of hearing stuff that sounds better than I had imagined it would!

Also up for free streaming is the first of two entirely solo piano pieces called Banging, Pounding, Racket, Noise Vol. 1
Which is the second FOWL cd.

As well album number 7 InaStorMental has a few free tracks, but is the first commercially available album,
and Killing Time With FOWL and Friends Album number 8, completely free!

I synced the music for my song Resistance with Alex Jones' Historic bullhorning of the bilderberg group meeting in Ottawa in 2006. What a powerful speech!
  • A Feeding Frenzy of FOWL, come and get it!!!!

Killing Time With FOWL and Friends
For a limited time only, I'm making the album Killing Time with FOWL and Friends available for complete download. Occasionaly, I allow other humans into my base meant for glory and record their outputs and piece some of what comes into album on it's own. This one is a personal favorite of mine, hear Jake Neumann tear it up on bass in a fusion epic jam, hear Alex Armstrong sing about the sad fate of his friend who brought a starter pistol to school, hear Forget Kevin attempt to live up to the legacy of ANIMAL on drums, hear Wild Bill make a desperate attempt at standup comedy only to lose his girlfriend in the process, and hear ten boneheads jabber at you at once. Tis a joy to behold! Come kill some time with me!
  • [Goldfrapp] Seventh Tree - 25 Feb 08 Album Release

    26 Oct 2007, 16:46 by IanAR

At 15:57 today, Goldfrapp announced the planned release of Seventh Tree:Paraphrasing, Deer said:

fourth album, Seventh Tree through Mute on February 25th 2008. Seventh Tree is written and produced by Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory and was recorded at their own studio deep in the English countryside.

A sensual counterpoint to the glitterball glamour of Supernature, Seventh Tree is gilded in the butterfly colours of an English surrealism shared from Edward Lear to John Lennon*. It shimmers and shines with the warmth of a hazy summer, an electric whirlpool over which Alison’s glistening voice soars.

    * - Only "Lear" & "Lennon" was said, further specification is by my assumption.

No further details have been released yet. If history is our guide (I watched the Black Cherry release preamble quite closely), track names will be hush-hush until about the time that promotional copies are sent out and we can be pretty sure there'll be a track called Seventh Tree ;)

I wonder how many sales will be lost and/or additional promotional effort will be required, through not releasing before Christmas - Although all forms of ad-space are at a premium prior to the 'Developed World's Annual Television and Overeating Festival (those who don't know it's Christmas can't afford to buy many CDs, anyhow).

The prognosis sounds more toward the Felt Mountain formulation, which I like and's been the word on Midnight To Six Management's authoritative Goldfrapp forum for months now. If that's the way it'll be, I'm gagging for it, and every remix!

More news as it happens - Ian
