I have always been thinking of Wishmaster as the worst song of the eponymous album, but this just sucks.

Ah it's not that tragic for you then. I always thought it was the best demonstration (after FantasMic) of Nw as a band, each member getting a chance to show his/her musical skill and range. So I guess the shock was a bit smaller for you, it was appalling to me.

It was equally appaling to me, I just had to think what she would do to other, better songs.

Probably the song is indeed good for every member showing his musical skill (or inability, as in the above video), but I prefer songs which have more unique melody (She is my Sin, FantasMic, Wanderlust to name some off the same album).

true...imagine how she would torture FantasMic. Tarja did quite well live with fantasmic part 3...imagine annette hitting those notes. It's almost funny

What a shame...

Nightwish went downhill probably without returning. These videos are worse than my worse expectations about them.

Well, not even a shame - I suggest a new band name - Nightmare!

Nightwish has become gramorous and swaggering. Maybe if I hadn't seen those ugly videos I wouldn't be so tough about them. But Turunen is the best singer in this music sphere! I think we should support her in any way that is possible.

that's just it, they're making a private band problem a public one. It's just dirty laundry washed in public. It doesn't go well together with Tuomas' claims of "art"

Alzheinette Parkinzon, considering how she bops around in the Amaranth-Video... either Parkinson or an epileptic seizure, poor thing. (No offence to those who really suffer from one of those illnesses of course)
Not only did NW get a singer with a sucky voice, but the videos are sucky as well :( It's really a pity, such a good band going downhill at such a high rate.

I agree with you gyes...after I red somewhere (before I listended to DPP) a title "Nightwish-Finish POP STARS"(???!!!???)I expected bad things, but it seems they are worse...
Actualy, maybe the music is the only thing thah I like(and thaht's why mostly I listen to instrumental versions).Lyrics and videos sux, their attitude too, the new voice and image too....

It's a good thing that there are still people who arent' tone deaf, if you check out Tarja Turunen's groups, or the other nightwish group, they seem to argue that Nw was neither symphonic nor Operatic, because Tarja sang in a clean-cut voice (???).
I wonder how it went at the Echo awards, since both they and Tarja were nominated...

about the covers...

I was only mildly annoyed with Anette's version of Sleeping Sun and even tolerant of her 'Nemo', but when I heard her singing 'Wishmaster', my face was positively wrinkled in distaste. What on earth has she done to this song that is so magical and complex and intense? Oh, it was adapted to fit her voice? Ohh! that would make sense now, wouldn't it? Bleah.

Bring back the old lastfm.
