  someone recommend me some bands in the vein of katatonia, anathema and paradise lost. also, i find impossible to choose which katatonia cd i prefer the most since they are all fuckin' ace. i just picked up the great cold distance on cd for $5 brand new - is this good

  +1 d4rkSign, DO and BMD (especially DO) are two of the most significant albums in my life. +1 Kivul too, December Songs is perfect, it helped me discover great bands like Forgotten Tomb and Forest of Shadows.

  I like most of them, right now Im into My Twin ep - Dissolving Bonds is perfect : S Same as Sounds Of Decay ep with At Last... But usually I prefer Tribute to Katatonia - December Songs album, that covers are just perfect !

  I like all albums, but most meaningful for me are the DO, BMD, and of course one cant get around of how awesome Without God is. I really feel that Discouraged Ones stands in somewhere between the old and new, and it is fantastic.

  Needs more Without God. MOAR! And I loved their old style, but I find their new style perfectly acceptable as well. Fuck the Katatonia are emo people. It's good music regardless.

  brave murder day is the only album that should be ever played live. sad thing is that noone can produce the proper vocals anymore... from the new albums, the only one i can properly listen to is Viva Emptiness. and then people start to label you for listening to depressive music... katatonia always had such beautifull music, so simple, yet so... fullfilling :)
