Exaile is a music player aiming to be similar to KDE's Amarok, but for GTK+ and written in Python. It incorporates many of the cool things from Amarok (and other media players) like automatic fetching of album art, handling of large libraries, lyrics fetching, artist/album information via Wikipedia, Last.fm submission support, and optional iPod support via a plugin.

    For some time I was using foobnix, but.... exaile is just somehow better ;) I'm back and I only wish for code optimization - it's slooooow on compiz ;P However - GREAT! kthxbye, dubstep ;D

    I'm developing this plugin, actually it's almost finished... I just need to figure out how to add the button to Exaile's gui. I want it to be next to the mute button. Soon I will post here and on some forums too where to download it.

    How much work would it be to add a button to "love" a track? What gui toolkit does exaile use? Being mostly a tcl/tk guy, I've only played with python/tkinter, but it seems, the API is straightforward, so adding a "love this track" button should be rather trivial, no?

    I found exaile easy to use from the start, okay had a few problems when my collection hit a certain amount but they were easy ironed out with further updates to the exaile music database scanner...

    I am curious as well GGarth on where the actual Exaile Community is and the best way to get answers like yours. I have been to the exaile-users and exaile-devel but there are questions there that have never been answered. I ask because there are several people new to Exaile that have defected from other players like Guayadeque, who were a part of a community that went private. And now see Exaile as a permanent replacement. But without docs or a community, it is hard to jump on board.

    is there any real documentation? there are all these strange idiosyncrasies, I'm having trouble telling which are bugs :D I suppose I could start asking questions on LP the Google group seems to be at a higher level than the stuff I'm wondering about Example: I've built a playlist & I'd like it to come up on the sidebar. There doesn't seem to be a direct method. My work around is save & then re-import

    BTW, Exaile logo is not displayed in "Scrobbling now from..." block on last.fm =( Is there a way to add a logo?

    I hate that Exaile considers the "Various Artists" compilation album thingy, always a bother to remove it from tagged files.

    Is anyone else having a bug in the context tab not showing the artist albums? tried 0.3.2 and 0.3.1 on lynx. cheers.
