    Mine's "Wag Mo Nang Itanong"

Some anger, and yet still playful. astig.

  • para sa masa. that song is so relevant, sincere and just had a lot to say to every filipino out there.

  • Alapaap - the song of flight :)

  • yep. alapaap.

  • Huling El Bimbo is very lyric and emotional.
    I really love it.
But the lyrics is written in Philippino so I can not understand..
Is there any web-sites or anything containing its translation in English?

    For Kastanozems

I found this on this site and added my own corrections to the horrible grammatical errors :P
    Some dude's blog

kamuka mo si Paraluman(you looked like Paraluman[I think she was a beautiful Filipina actress back in the 50s or something])
nung tayo ay bata pa(when we were still kids)
at ang galing-galing mo sumayaw(and you were really really good at dancing)
mapabugi man o cha cha(may it be boogey or cha-cha)
    ngunit ang pabotrito(but my favorite)
ay pagsayaw mo ng el bimbo(is when you dance the El Bimbo)
nakakaindak, nakakaaliw(it made me wanna dance, it entertained me)
    nakakatindig balahibo(it gave me goosebumps)

pagkagaling sa skwela ay didiretso na sa inyo(right after school we'd go straight to your house)
at buong maghapon ay tinuturuan mo ako(and the whole afternoon you taught me)

    (chorus)
magkahawak ang ating kamay (holding hands)
at walang kamalay-malay(and I didnt even notice)
na tinuruan mo ang puso ko(that you taught my heart)
na umibig ng tunay(what real love is)

nanigas ang aking katawan(my body froze)
pagumikot na ang plaka(when the disc starts spinning)
patay sa kembot ng bewang mo (I'm dying to the swaying of your hips)
at ang pungay ng iyong mga mata(and when u look back at me)

lumiliwanag ang buhay (my life gets brighter)
habang tayo'y magkaakbay(when we are together)
at dahang dahan dumudulas ang kamay ko sa makinis mong braso (and my hand slowly slips through your smooth arm)

sana noon pa man ay sinabi na sa iyo(i should have told you back then)
kahit hindi na uso ay ito lang ang alam ko(even though it's not popular anymore, this is all i know)

    (chorus)
la la la...la la..la la la la la la...(la la la...la la..la la la la la la...)

lumipas ng maraming taon(many years have passed)
di na tayo nagkita(we never saw each other)
balita ko'y may anak ka na(i heard you now have a child)
    ngunit walang asawa(but no husband)

tagahugas ka raw ng pinggan (they say u wash dishes)
sa may Ermita(over there in Ermita[its a palce in the philippines])
at isang gabi nasagasaan(and one night you got ran-over)
sa isang madilim na eskinita(in a dark alley)

lahat ng pangarap ko'y bigla lang natunaw(all my hopes suddenly melted[or, roughly, faded])
sa panaginip na lang pala kita maisasayaw(now i can only dance with you in my dreams)

    (chorus 2x)

la la la...la la...la la la la (la la la...la la...la la la la )

IMO, translating it to English makes the song lose its sincerity. The Filipino lyrics are simple, but full of emotions, even a bit humorous at times (one of the things I love about Eraserheads songs).

  • Thank you!!!

    Dear onesixoneeight,

I really really appreciate to you help!!
I thought it was a love song when I read the first half of the lyrics, but it is not just a love song..very sorrowful..

  • Japanese translation

I tried to translate it to Japanese in my journal, though a part of them have not been translated yet, because of my poor English.
Thank you again for you kindness!

    Kailan Lounge

i love how the piano plays on this track. I still have the tapes! Uemp, circus! ung cutterpillow ninakaw ng classmate ko nung haiskul hahahaa! tagal na nun!

    Music. A gift. Keep it.
  • Magasin and Huling El Bimbo are my favorites... for now.
It changes every time 'cause their songs are timeless.
But the REAL concert song is Pare Ko!
On part 2 of The Final Set, imagine thousands of people cursing all at the same time... in a song! Just legendary.

    Art and Music.
