Anyone else in love with Ruth Notman?

  • Anyone else in love with Ruth Notman?

It must be love at first listen! I can't get enough of Ruth Notman - traditional folk / fusion - I don't know what it is but love it!! I can't the CD here in the US and I'm hoping to see her when next in the UK. What do ya'll think?

  • I'll admit to my appalling ignorance here and say that I've not run across her. I shall definitely seek out some of her music, though.

  • I hadn't heard of her before, but after seeking her out, I now like her too - she reminds me very much of Kate Rusby.

  • OK, I've had a listen and I'm suitably impressed. I shall be investing in a CD as soon as I'm able to.

  • Just got the CD and it's Fab! My folks had to send from London as it's not out in the US!
Some great arrangements of traditional tunes and some original tunes too. Love the cello and use of piano as well as haunting melodeon!
    Enjoy!

    Well I am impressed

One of Ruths Songs turned up in my Radio. I was certainly impressed and listened to some more. Great music!!

  • Yes, indeed!

I heard her on Late Junction last year (listening online from the U.S.), and thought she was wonderful.

  • Haven't heard as yet, but interested

  • Just saw her last night for the first time. Very good indeed. A good balance between traditional and self-penned songs. She works very well will Saul Rose too.
