I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...well i don't know about you, but for me he was my entrance to especially jazz and in a way also to music in general. I got so fascinated by his music in my teenage years that i travelled back in history to understand him, tracking all guys with whom he had played and discovering a lot of music in that way. He definitively changed my interest in music in general and jazz especially. And yes I STARTED with the electric Miles (Big Fun and Bitches Brew) and by admiring him i got acquainted with the earlier periods of his music and jazz in general.

Live-Evil omg. That CD is ....sex. I mean, Bitches Brew is RIDICULOUS, but, the deeper into the Electric period I went, the lighter it seemed to me. @_@ Live-Evil though was remarkable. Love it.

Live-Evil is heavily underrated in Mile's discography.

Listening to Dark Magus for the first time has blown my mind. I need more money and time so I can go ahead and buy Agharta and Pangaea.

I recommended Mederic Colignon " Shangri - Tunkashi - La " , his new record is great with many Miles e lectric tunes.

Hi folks. May I recommend Paul Tingen's excellent book enitled 'Miles Beyond' (67-91) as wonderful text fodder whilst indulging in Miles's primitive drum n bass. I also advise a quick scan on you tube - 'miles live and brutal berlin 1973' - to see it alive in the flesh.

Just groovin' with "Go ahead John" from BIG FUN, McLaughlin is stellar on this cut (as usual!)

68-75 was a quality and overlooked period. You can hear a lot of its influence seeping into modern music of many varied styles.Good to see this era is getting the respect it deserves via groups like this.

Spot on. So good to see other afficionados of this era. Respect to his earlier albums, but this is when Miles was pushing the boundaries the furthest, creating completely new sounds and arrangements, and abstract compositions that are simply not of this Earth! Hero.
