    Need help thread.

Here is a place to take any issues that you may have with the radio to here.

Just give us some details of the problem, then we can see if we can help.

    Small issue using firefox

I've found that, at least with my version of firefox, it doesn't recognize the protocol to launch the player, etc. So what I have to do if the last.fm player doesn't show the station in my history is a small series of steps:

    1. right click on the "group radio" link and select "copy link location"
    2. click on the wrench icon on the last.fm player.
    3. go to "enter station address"
    4. paste the link as given, and then replace the "%20"s with spaces

    and it should connect.

  • Problem with the Player

For some odd reason, whenever I click on the "play Group Radio" button, it plays my Neighbor Radio instead.

Same thing happens when I type the link in manually into the player.

[edit] Never mind... it was a proxy problem.

    It's not Nime: it's Nim, dammit! Nim-el-en-nar!
  • Uploading?

I can`t seem to upload. Do I have to download the add-on to my media player in order to upload, or is it just something completely obvious that I seem to be missing?

If you use the Last.fm Player, then you shouldn't have a problem (you can download it at the top of the page).

Otherwise, tell us what type of Media Player do you use.

  • Uploading

You don't quite 'upload' so much as send a list of what you listen to to a large database. If it's licensed as streamable, then other people can listen to it when it filters through into EGS radio, or other stations affected by what you listen to.

If you download the Last.fm player, then every song you listen to on that goes onto your list of played music.

If you download the plugin for your media player, then the music you listen to on that goes onto your list as well.

So if you listen to your own music collection on your media player it starts to add that in (in theory). Otherwise, you'll stay listening to what other people already have when you use the Last.fm player.

Does that help? Or at least sound comprehensible?

  • No playback...at all

    *growl, growl*

When I try to play (thanks for the tip Lomgren, it really helped) I get the message "There is not enough content left to play this station."

    Any ideas?

Shut it down, then wait a few minutes before starting it up again.

  • Trouble shooting in advance!

If you try to use the OS X Beta version of the client for the first time & it keeps quiting after about 5 sec's, then try quiting iTunes if it's open so it can install the plugin.
