You can find most of the recordings from these bands on Early On (1964-1966) and his first, self-titled album David Bowie. This is some classic pre-Space Oddity stuff, well worth checking out, especially Early On

What about Davie Jones with The King Bees? The Manish Boys? David Bowie with The Lower Third? That in my mind is "early" Bowie.
