I think that they are evolving... it's just more in to psychedelia and even somewhat classical elements... here's to hoping he doesn't start pumping out Indian ragas or some half baked folk style drones

I'm tired of the new Earth sound. I'd like to see them evolve now, instead of making the same record over and over again. They're still good, but this stuff is just missing something.

Was really nice to speak to Adrienne and Dylan at the gig at the Well, Leeds Fri night. Shame the sound guy didn't really get the levels right on Lori's cello tho.

hey krumbledkookie how about Boris? When I was first getting into Drone Metal people seemed to regard Earth, Sunn O))) & Boris as the big three of the genre. They've performed together also. All were missing is a Boris/Earth split ;-\

Perhaps it is just because it is new.. But seriously... I cannot get over the new album... Holy shit.. I was just relaxing in the bath last evening.. & had it playing... & I was seriously taken away.. Good grief... Such a powerful album... I sound like a serious fanboy right now.. but I don't care... This album is what I needed...

No dissapointment for me.. New album is fantastic.. Albeit not a departure from "The Bees".. But I am ok with that... Really smooth album... I cannot wait to hear part II.

Anyone have any ideas for expanding the connected artists?

New album has leaked. It's good, in fact, really good, but not as much of a departure from the previous album's sound as I had expected. I'm a bit disappointed.

Two new albums coming out in 2011: Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light I and II. Both on Southern Lord. Will feature Dylan Carlson and Adrienne Davies, cellist Lori Goldston, and bassist Karl Blau. Awesome. Volume I is released on February 7th, while Vol. 2 will follow later in the year.

Earth - "A Bureaucratic Desire for Extra Capsular Extraction" CD and 2xLP now available at Southern Lord. Reissue of old stuff, but newly remastered, might be worth your time.

I think that's what I heard. It feels like it's been forever since "The Bees Made Honey..." so whenever it is, it won't be soon enough.

This album cannot be released soon enough.. IT's going to be awesome. I've recently been on an Earth kick.. Can't wait.

That's outstanding news. Looking forward to hearing the sound of the cello on an Earth record.

Some of you may know that Earth played a few shows (west coast of the US) a few months ago with Karl Blau and Lori Goldston. So, surprise, they just dont play live with them... From Karl Blau´s MySpace: "A new record by the band EARTH is coming from the Southern Lord firm. The cast is the core: Dylan Carlson on guitar and Adrienne Davies on drums surrounded by: Lori Goldston on Cello and Karl Blau on bass. It was mostly done live with the 4 of us together in a room at AVAST! studios." For those who don´t know Lori Goldston, she´s a great cellist, most famous for playing with Nirvana 93-94. Karl Blau is a really great artist, check him out: http://www.myspace.com/karlblau

I love how they the evolve from heavy drone to airy post-rock. I wonder what's next?
