3 days dunk!festival?

  • 3 days dunk!festival?

What would you guys say if we would go to a 3 day festival?
That would be friday 22, saturday 23 and sunday 24th of April.
Or rather keep it a 2 day festival?
A 3 day festival will probably cost €50 combi and €25 for one day.
We're really not sure about this but we would like to know your opinion on this.

    Let us know!

  • Do it!

Three days of post-rock? I'd give my life for that! 50 euro would be reasonable! I'd say: yes, do it!

  • Hi!

Sounds nice. Personally, I think 25euro for a day is a bit too much. With lower price, I would be more interested. 50euro for three days sounds more like it! Nevertheless, nice idea! Post-rock for the win. Always. Greets, Yordiscédo

  • YES!

i was planning on flying over from england for the 2 day one so 3 would be so much better. 50 euro is a bargain however you look at it.

  • Price

    Positive so far :-)
But Yordiscédo, do you think anyone would come over for only one day?
And I think 6 or 7 bands for €25 is still ok. Or am I mistaking?
I sometimes pay more than that for one band and support. (And I'm talking about postrockbands.)

    Grtz,
    wout

  • All good things come in threes

Yes, and 25th April is my birthday. What a party! Do it! All the best.

  • Hi Dysgirices, 7 great bands would indeed be okay for 25euro :—D I'm sorry for the fuzz. You're right. I thought there would be only 4 bands or so per evening. Let us know some names as soon as possible!

  • Maybe the first day would be only 3 or 4 bands but the other two days will be like the two days of this years edition.

@tributewg: if your still around then we'll sing you a song!

Thanks for the feedback so far guys!

Well, I'd rather prefer a two day festival. The shorter the festival, the more to get excited about. Three days of postrock surely is great, but I like the intimacy of a small festival. Three days will attract a bigger crowd of people I think, and a bigger crowd of people would make the festival less intense for me. It depends on the goals the organization has for its concept; reaching out to more people, or keeping it small and magical....
No matter the days, I'm looking forward to it already!

  • Hi Elektra5,
I see what you mean. We don't want a bigger crowd. We just want to give you more music. Last year was sold out but maybe you've noticed the space was not fully packed. That's because we want to keep it comfortable. Maybe we sell some more tickets this year but it won't be that much. But that counts for both cases (2 or 3 days).
And if I look at your wishlist entry we should go for a week or something :-).

  • I really like the 2 day version, 3 days could be nice though :)

  • Yeah, why not make it a week, dysgirices?

    FRIETEN

And... if it's gonna be a three day festival I goddamn want a "FRIETKRAAM" nearby! Well, if it's gonna be two days I goddamn want it as well :)

  • @JammerArt:
We could definitely fill a week with all the great bands suggested in the wishlist! And I could even say that that is our goal for the future... Sometime... But at this moment we are not really in the financial position to do that ;-).

    @Elektra5
Frieten? Didn't you like the homemade 'waterzooi', 'stoemp', sandwiches or chili then? But I'll keep your request in mind ;-).

I really really appreciate that attitude :-) That's the charm of dunk!fest. 50 euro for 3 days sounds more than reasonable.

  • i think 50 € for 3 days festival is the correct price, i agree with a 3 days edition of the festival. My real preoccupation: I will come from Italy and my hope is that airplanes costs will not be too high (remember that in 2011 sunday 24 april will be Easter)

  • Thanks Skemmer!
We aim for that Easter weekend because most people don't have to work on monday. And we didn't know people would come from so far away for our festival! :-)
Seems like nobody is against the idea of a 3 day festival so far :-)

If the line-up will be "strong" like the one of 2010 you'll be sure i'll bring with me 3/4 friends from Rome, but i trust othere people from other states will be glad to be at Dunk!Festival :)

  • @flescetto
We hope to present a lot more of fine bands in 2011 then we did this year. That's the reason why we are thinking about a 3-days-version. The only reason we are hesitating, is that we really can't risk a new loss in money. Be sure that we ain't happy to raise the ticketprice that much.

  • Dunk!festival just decided to go for a 3 day edition of dunk!festival 2011!
(If the financial plans turn out as we expect.)

  • WONDERFUL!!!!
with soul and heart i'm there!
I trust it will be a great event!
