...or "drinking to make music to drink to"
>>>There is always talk of "smoking a blunt and listening to Led Zep," but why aren't people drinking beers and listening to Hank Williams (or insert band listed below) in such large numbers? Obviously many musicians have been influenced by weed as well as many other substances and weed is a more practical choice for many as a substance to better enjoy music, but there are those among that like our music soaked in alcohol and experienced with drink in hand. I feel there is music that is very much complimented by alcohol and it is rarely given its due. Of course I do enjoy the music of many
stoners, junkies, and cokeheads, but drunks most of all.
>>>It pisses me off that junkies have a respectable anthem in "Heroin" by Velvet Underground, potheads have "Rainy Day Women" by Bob Dylan, cokeheads have "Teenage Depression" by Eddie and the Hotrods, and that much of the time drunk anthems are limited to "Margaritaville" or whatever Lil Jon is singing about getting "crunk." Why are the drunk anthems not "This Drinkin' Will Kill Me" by Dwight Yoakam? Or "Had Me a Real Good Time" by Faces? "Streams of Whiskey" by the Pogues? What the Hell?
>>>One could make the argument that anything is drinking music that is listened to while drinking, I hope by this point my concept is clear and I need not address that argument!
