Favourite Instrumental?

  • Favourite Instrumental?

Which is your favourite instrumental DT song, and why?

Mine is Stream of Consciousness just for the high levels of technical ability shown in it.

  • i agree, my fave instrumental of theirs is Stream of Conciousness. other than that id go for Ytse Jam, the ending is great

  • "A Change of Seasons" because it's just friggin' amazing. Do I really have to explain why it is so great? If you've heard it, you know why. Wait, that's not really an instrumental... Okay, I'm gonna have to go with "Erotomania"... Mike Portnoy is awesome in this song and so is everyone else (as always). But Mike Portnoy really shines on this song.

Instrumedley's fun. Probably that, The Dance Of Eternity and Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence i. Overture.

    Edit: Hell's Kitchen. Definitely that.

  • First of all, greeting crowd. Im a newbie around here :)

I've just got Necronomicon Epilogue, and I think it's one of their best.

But I have no idea from what album does this song come from. Any clues ?

  • My favorite instrumental is probably the one called 'Showdown' that they played at a few shows. Lyrics were added later and it turned into Raise the Knife

  • Necronomicon

This is not an album track. From my understanding this was a theme song that Petrucci wrote for a Sega game called Necronomicon.

Btw my fave instrumental is the Dance of Eternity.

I'd say stream of consciousness and the instrumental parts of a change of season.

Either Instrumedley from Budokan and ohter live performances, or Paradigm Shift from Liquid Tension Experiment (if this counts :D)

  • 1. Erotomania
    2. Hell's Kitchen (the intro solo has so much emotion)
    3. Overture 1928
    4. Stream Of Consciousness
    5. Dance Of Eternity

My fav is Instrumedly, partially because of Paradigm Shift and Universal Mind being in it. Next is Overture, short and sweet. It's what I use to Pimp Dream Theater.

I decided I'm going to make a Rap/Viking Metal album. It's going to be called: "Kivenkan'ttouchthis"

Instrumedly on Budokan simply because it is jaw dropping.

On a studio album probably SoC on Train of Thought.

With a name like cyberdrummer, I immediately knew you would pick Stream of Consciousness.

Mine is probably Erotomania, although I love Dance of Eternity, Stream of Consciousness, Ytse Jam.....
