oh god yes, the best player for linux yet. vlc is good but it's clearly not intended for music and i love the audacious winamp-like but it sucks to click open and browse your folder again every time you want to switch albums, everything i tried was more or less lame.

For tag editing, I'd recommend installing either puddletag or easytag.

after trying about 10 different players, none of which would let me play just by choosing a directory, I found Decibel! it's great!

just using this software now...excellent, definitely does not drain RAM! is it capable of bit-perfect output?

Currently best Linux audio player. Would love to be able to edit MP3 tags though...

This is awesome. The only player that can handle my 160GB+ library (because it doesn't bother trying to make a tag db of it, thank god) but still lets me drag and drop tracks to queue, save playlists, etc. And strangely enough, no other player I've tried on this old 'buntu computer lets me skip forward within a track. Decibel does its job well. I'll be recommending this one. Thank you for making this!

The only linux audio player I'll ever use from now on. It's a crime that it's not more popular. Hell, get rid of Rhythmbox and make this the default Ubuntu player.

...strange, however. seems near /overdrive/ -- however, rarely do i have the Harmon-Kardon at this level-- so could be component failure [doubtful and would not attribute described O/D to simply pushing the amp vol]. i know little, very little of the various audio pkgs for Linux, and the seemingly disparate options amongst them. alsa always seemed fine to me, although i believe it's /the/ generic, one-size-fits-all thing, so-- as expected.
