    New to Linux

    Hi all :)

Sorry dudes, but you have a Mac user in your midsts ;-p

Anyway, I have been given a Packard Bell iMedia 14 something or other
and I have put Debian 5.0 i386 onto it so that I don't have to put up with Microsh*te.
I am currently using it now to type this PM to you all.
This is my first ever attempt at Linux and I am rather impressed so far.
The screen seems rather washed out and I can't get my Last FM player to play my library or anything else, though I have enabled Java and Java script and so on on Epiphany.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks
    Dave

Well so much for the help and support.
    Bye

  • I, too, am new to Linux. I think sometime in September I'll have everything all set up on an Acer Aspire AS7736Z-4809. Debian Squeze with KDE.

    Nothing's gonna happen
  • Get yourself the smxi scripts to perform desktop-type administration easily, including getting a custom desktop-oriented kernel and installing proprietary video drivers. On Squeeze, I prefer KDE, with Amarok for all my music needs.
