    Zizek

Have any of you read Slavoj Zizek? He is a Slovene philosopher

In his book Living in the End Times, he writes at some length about the music of Rammstein, and how it undermines fascist 'libidinal instincts' by turning the aesthetics into spectacle. In other words, when we can dance to Rammstein or Laibach without ideology, we take the power of this imagery away from fascism.

This seems to me to be quite a good description of cryptofa as a project.

    Worth a read.

  • I haven't read Zizek, but this sounds similar to Baurdillard to me - fascist aesthetics become hyperreal - lost his true meaning and become a simulacrum - empty form of something but without its meaning. Fits perfectly to Laibach or even Rammstein.

  • Slavoj Žižek is a mastermind. Hails to thee !

  • Read anything on the Situationist International's technique of détournement. I'm sure Zizek is familiar with DeBord's work.

Do you have the Baudrillard reference? I mean, which booK?
