  • The fire was in one of the coal bunkers, which was a consequence of using cheap coal. (There was a coal miner's strike on then.) Coal fires were common during the age of shovels and cinders, and it's been suggested that the fire weakened RMS Titanic's hull. A smouldering coal bunker fire adjacent to a black powder magazine turned U.S.S. Maine into a monstrous fire cracker and led to a war in Cuba and the Philippines. So here's a song about some musicians who played "Autumn" while the wireless operators sent "CQD" to anyone who was listening.
    "Songe d' automne":

they were better than the new BCo imo

    ...these Yankees

...or you rather like thees Damnsel "you fools" ?

  • Damned Yankees for me had too much expectation to be great and they did NOT live up to what i thought they should be.not all supergroups work out sometimes. i DID like one song off the debut. coming of age.

um, haven't seen the movie. Speaking of, what of interest on Netflix have you found. For me I really like "Saving Grace" series.

  • i like finding movies i have not seen in a long time like cooley high. that was sort of a black 60's version of american graffitti. also , movies i missed like the other side of the mountain(and it's sequel) or arthur. the 1981 version. my wife does like like concert films or documentaries on rock and roll but they are also found on netflix as well.

...thinking of older movies (that i'd like to repeat) ; for silly amusement... Shawn of the Dead... Idiocracy... The Breaks

  • I saw last evening the secret of the unicorn (Tintin)

Great movie, even the licence plate on the cars is correct.
Looks that mister Spielberg was in Belgium before.
For me it was easy to follow (I have the comics)

BUT the two comics has a diffrent story than the movie.
Sometimes I felt that Tintin was Indiana Jones.

    oh good Dirk :)
I liked it a lot too but know what you mean about character differences. In comics I really get a kick out of Capt. Haddock and his 'salty' sailor who loved his booze, but in the movie he was more the lemon, a drunken self pity. Thompson and Thompson were great in the movie; I liked them best...

  • Strange you all called the dog "Snowy"
His name is original : Bobby

  • i am really looking forward to the avengers movie!!! seems like every single comic book i had as a kid is now a major motion picture!
