    Favorite works by C.P.E. Bach!

Post to this thread your favorite works by C.P.E. Bach!

  • Hard to say as I don't really have a great knowledge of all his works.
But so far I'd say his keyboard concertos, all of them.
I didn't like much his oratorios (to be honest I really can't stand the german-style oratorio, they are so boooring).
    Symphonies are ok.
Got his Magnificat here ready to be listened when I have some time.

  • CPE Bach

I thinck that his keyboard work (in special keyboard concertos and variations for solo keyboard) are fantastic!
Alucaed89:Magnificat is ok but I think C.P.E. Bach is better in other camps

Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach: one of my favourite composers. I love his style ( Storm and Stress / "Empfindsamer Stil") His music is often very dramatic, fast, unpredictable and expressive.
He wrote lots of concertos for harpsichord ( about 50 )
great ones are - for instance -:

His symphonies are amazing as well. ( I personally recommend the recording of the Solamente naturali, the symphonies wq. 183)

For me, he is the Beethoven of the early classical music =)
