• Why isn't Holly McNarland mentioned?
She's currently working on a new album called "Chin up Buttercup" which is slated for release in 2007. Yay :)

... And I agree on Sass Jordan (love "Racine" and "Rats")

  • It is very impressive when you realize all these women have ties to Canada. I'm currently a little obsessed with Neko Case - I discovered her thanks to last.fm!

Hello. This is my 'maiden' group here, and my 'maiden' post.

My favorite artists missing from this list are Lynn Miles, and The Rankin Family (Heather, Cookie, and Raylene). Also love fellow Cape Bretoners Natalie MacMaster and young Ms. Aseline Debison.

Others to include are Jane Siberry, of course, as well as Canadian Idol Theresa Sokyrka.

(BTW - Sara Harmer's "Songs for Clem" - is just splendid!)

Great idea for a group. Congratulations!

    On the sunny side,

  • Great choices, I think I got all these including Carolyn Dawn Johnson.

I can't believe I didn't have Jane Siberry already, DUH!

  • Stever and Dalbello would certainly fit the group's name.
