  Those factor in non best-on-best competitions. Whenever it's a best-on-best competition, Canada always wins. I consider Russia to be the 6th best hockey country in the world right now, with Canada being 1st.

  There were no best-on-best tournaments in 2011-2012. In fact, Canadians are progressing so quickly that even the World Juniors, which used to be a best-on-best competition, are no longer best-on-best. The last World Juniors should have had Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (1st overall pick of last draft), Jeff Skinner (Calder trophy winner), Tyler Seguin (Stanley Cup Winner) and many more.
