Greasemonkey script for weekly charts on profile pages

  • Greasemonkey script for weekly charts on profile pages

    Hey guys,

I felt like coding a bit today and got started on a small greasemonkey script to display the weekly snapshot charts on user profiles, 'cause it really was bugging me and there didn't seem to be anything like it (strange though).

I read here that a lot of people seem to feel the same, so here it is:
    http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/31560

If you don't know what greasemonkey is, it's a firefox extensions to run user specified javascript on pages you want to, it's pretty much like the stylish extension for javascript:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/748

I know the code's pretty dirty and static, and I'm not even sure if it will work everywhere, there might be some language versions which don't because last.fm pages seem to have some extra code depending on which url you visit through.
To be safe, visit through last.fm or lastfm.de.

It works for sure with the standard last.fm style, the one I did (http://userstyles.org/styles/9510), but most probably with every style available.

Feel free to tell me how you like it, if you spot an error or got any suggestions whatsoever.

  • Thanks a lot for the weekly charts script!

    But I have a problem with the re-structered last.fm

The recently heard tracks frame is not correct...

    could you help me?

  • Beautiful! Thanks a million!!

  • Auras666:

That happens because you're using firefox 2, I'd suggest you upgrade to version 3 in the near future. :o

If you can't (or don't feel like upgrading) I put up a version with fx2 fixes a few minutes ago: http://userstyles.org/styles/9534
    Didn't test it much though.

  • Thank you, works now.

  • I use standart red last.fm and this script seems to do nothing at all on my page or my friends' pages. but it does show weekly charts on your page! what am I doing wrong?

  • WiHHi_Z3_PuX: Oh wow, sorry, that's a real stupid mistake on my part. Forgot that last.fm usernames could have _s in them. Thanks for the feedback, fixed it in the new version.

  • now it is working and it is very, very good!

  • I think everyone on this site wants to know about this, but they don't know yet. Maybe the topic should be named "Weekly charts" in large friendly letters? It makes last.fm so much better!

  • fyi: version 0.2 is out, adding tabs to switch between artists, tracks and albums.

  • Awesome work, both this script and your stylish theme! Thanks!

  • is there a way to post weekly charts info in "about me" section so everyone could see?

  • i love you man <3 THANK YOUUU!

you made my day this is what i missed about last fm that made it exciting!

  • Awesome! Thank you, that was something I really missed from old style last.fm <33

    thanx man,great!!!

  • This is so great! I loved having my weekly top artists. :)

    EDIT:
I didn't know if you were aware of the overlapping text problem on the forums, so I thought I'd let you know.

Additionally, on my friends, profile, etc pages there is just like, a huge screen full space of just grey at the bottom.

This is still way better than the real last.fm. =P

    they should bring it back...

  • Wow, this is great. To be honest, when I installed this script, I was skeptical, as most of these scripts are dysfunctional. But this really works. It looks great as well.

I put a link to the script on my profile page. Well done!
