    first album

Tom Petty - Full Moon Fever

  • I don't remember if I bought it or not but my first album was TLC - Oooh on the TLC Tip. The first album I ever wanted to get was Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Majik, but I don't think my parents would have let me get it at the time.

  • My very first album I bought was The Offspring - Ixnay on the Hombre. It was on the MC tape, because CDs were too expensive for me :)

Chevrolet Camaro - Unleashed Fuel Only

And -as most of the people here- I have also listened to this awful eurodance-stuff. *yuck*

Hmm, it was Phil Collins - "Hello, I Must Be Going"

Piraci grają w kręgle. Niebo jest przy tym czerwone. Zupełnie.
Kiedy król chwieje się podcięty kulą, na horyzoncie pojawiają się
białe okręty. Słychać wspaniały śmiech i grzmot.
  • I remember the first tape I had made for me was Billy Ocean's "When the Going Gets Tough" back around '86. I was 6 (obviously) so I didn't know any better.

A year or two later, I was given Jimmy Barnes' "Freight Train Heart" on vinyl for Christmas, and I think I still have it around somewhere.

However the first album I remember buying that I actually wanted was Aerosmith's "Pump" back in 1989. "Janie's Got A Gun" was massive and I'm pretty sure that was the only song I knew from the album but dad got it for me (on tape) anyways. Years later, in a fit of teenage rebellion that I thought was quite symbolic, I taped over it with a Nirvana compilation I made for myself. Why I didn't just use a blank tape, I don't know.

Anyways, funny what you can remember sometimes huh...

  • The first cassette was "Bad" by Michael Jackson in 1987...
The first CD was "Nevermind" by Nirvana around 1992..

Bad is disappeared, but I still have Nevermind's CD such as it would be new... :)

  • The first vinyl my mom bought me was MJ's "Thriller."

The first cassette I bought (with my own money) was The Bangles "Different Light" (and I vividly remember my mom taking me to Turtles specifically for it. I was OVER THE MOON with happiness, I loved the Bangles so much. haha)

The first cd I bought (with my own money) was either Debbie Gibson's "Electric Youth" or Vanilla Ice "Ice Ice Baby" (talk about a sign of the times! haha)
