Sat 24 Oct – Porcupine Tree, Katatonia

Dressed in my brand-new very cool Katatonia shirt, I stood only 2 meters from Jonas Renske and watched him and the rest of the band perform their live show. Ok, so maybe they are not the world's best live band, but it was so f-ing awesome to stand in front of them and watch them play :-)

They told us, "tack som fan" and "tack för att ni stod ut med oss innan Porcupine Tree", which was really very modest of these guys (Thanks for putting up with us before Porcupine Tree comes along). Great show guys, hope to see you again!

    Porcupine Tree

Well I had been looking forward to this concert since I bought the ticket back in April, and man was I excited! So I got like the best spot ever, directly in front of the microphone and about 2 meters away from the god himself.

OH MY GAWD!!!! It was so f-ing amazing to be that close! And I actually did not even faint! Well the music was absolutely fantastic, not a single note wrong and I loved every single second of this concert. And hearing my second best song played live, Anesthetize, even if it was only part of the song, was just coolness indeed.

It ended waaaaay to soon. Well, Steven told us that they really enjoyed playing for us, that he never heard of the town Lund and that they want to come back.

Well, I have my new Porcupine Tree The Incident hoody, mighty fine, and the most wonderful memories of this amazing concert.

"Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suit on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on Sunday night. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourselves. Choose your future. Choose life . . . But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin' else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you've got heroin?"

As experts in your chosen musical field, who do you think Paul Cusick sounds like? Some say Porcupine Tree, others say Blackfield.

His guitar style has been likened to Steve Rothery?

    Hey Everyone,

I'm brand new here. Just signed up about 5 seconds ago.
Before I do anything else I wanted to find other Blackfield fans.
I run a website in the US that is dedicated to helping promote the music of Blackfield, as well as SW and Aviv's other work.

If your interested, stop by. Join the forum, we are new and we need members to come by and join in the discussion and join the street team if you are interested in helping spread the word.
We have some audio, rare video (and more on the way!) a huge gallery and a forum...

This project really deserves more recognition!
