WHAT ARE YOU COMPULSIVELY LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?

  • Do the voices in my head count?

The last time I sat down and listened to music, I think it was Gene Autry music.

  • Song stuck in my head

I have "Sex on fire" by the Kings of Leon playing in the back of my mind. If I start singing it today while I am with the students.. it could be interesting ;)

For me, it has been Ben Sollee's cover of A Change is Gonna Come (ala Sam Cooke and Otis Redding). Ben is a cello player, and his version is just awesome.

Bill, that sounds cool. Cello is one of my favorite instruments. Share?

I am not listening to anything new right now. I'm on a weird Oasis kick, probably because they're finally touring again and I have tickets for the December show in NYC.

  • The song in my head lately is ... Rocky Raccoon.

  • decemberists. ever since the concert last week.

I'm having trouble not listening to Ladytron. They rule... stupid Ben.

Yeah, I've heard a song or two and it didn't do anything for me.

  • I'm currently listening to Billy Currington's new CD and the song Don't is my special favorite!

    It's all about you, baby!!

Last 24 hours I have been compulsively listening to Club Hoy.

  • La Roux 'Quicksand' (now on tour in the UK, go see her)

Though I can't seem to stop listening to Florence and the Machine and Ladyhawke either. Course then there's the staples of Ladytron CSS and Santogold. Tilly and the Wall only recently appeared on my radar, as they opened for CSS.

Yeah, well I've listened to the Grates' album about three times in the past two days. How did that happen?

You, too, shall fall in love with Patience Hodgson, Alana Skyring and John Patterson. It is inevitable. Actually, this second album is just ridiculously good, I reckon. It's fun (like the first) and has more backbone, depth and long-term listenability. And it coheres like the first did not.

  • Yeah, just when I got obsessed with the glam revival of 2009, even little miss Glam Guida GaGa (there's a Eurhythmics mashup that makes 'Just Dance' tolerable). I turn around and get smacked with The Grates and now the Howling Bells are back on the radar. Yay music!

Lots of Sage Francis recently on the zen, but it's been a Ladytron week on my comp.

Until recently I was in one of my many phases of obsession with Silversun Pickups, who everyone needs to listen to.
