With few exceptions, such as fiat currency, little has changed in the cycle of authoritarian conquest. In medieval times, as the leader of any movement/clan, one had to conquer and obtain new wealth or territory and parcel these conquests to their enforcers to maintain support for their reign. With fiat currency, stealing from the populous is much easier because you can just print the currency when you need it. And yet war still happens because of MIC interests, despite revolutionizing the methods of conquest. By the time the negative effects occur, such as businesses raising prices and firing employees, the effects are not traced back by many individuals in society, and they blame the obvious effects, confusing symptom with source. Hence anti-corporation protests which expect the government to save them.

Referring to the quote: "It cannot be denied that Fascism..." On its own, that quote does not sufficiently make the argument against fascism, but it does not offer you the evidence to suggest that Mises is not anti-fascist. What Mises says can be applied to any highly centralized statist ideology: Some people perceive such systems to work, and the belief, however short lived, gives rise to the false conclusion that such systems are fundamentally sound, barring some event believed by some to be external to the state in causing its downfall. Whether it is means testing or popular discriminatory views, some form of minority will often be marginalized to compensate for the loss of state revenue. For Hitler's nazi state there were plenty of scapegoats such as Jews or homosexuals.

Well done then you just monumentally wasted our time and proved yourself a troll.

    Alright, just testing your temper

I'm sorry your "evil propaganda" "mighty intellectual hammer" :) you really really need to get over yourself. Now aryo listen I wasn't trying to smear mises name ok, I was trying to find out what people's opinion on a mises quote was ok. I might have worded what I was saying badly (I have already said that) but I am not a troll. Seriously grow up and get over yourself.

I may appear as arrogant, because I don't allow ignorant trolls to spread their false presumptions and evil propaganda? If you hadn't smeared Mises in the first place, I wouldn't have smashed your face with my mighty intellectual hammer. Now go fuck yourself.

You are an arrogant fool and I am not trolling.

I am an expert on economics and logic, while you keep on trolling. Well then, just keep on trolling. I hunt trolls for food.

You are a child who cannot argue with facts so he misrepresents the truth. Grow up and get over yourself.

  • Aryo

No, the problem is you and your immature entry to this group, by trolling and accusing Mises of cooperation and involvement with fascism - which is precisely the ultimate straw man argument and red herring one can come up with. Therefore I don't see any reason to either debate you or treat you as a serious individual, looking for information regarding economics, history or libertarianism.

  • Harliquensfly

Yes I never denied I (admittedly poorly) wrote that but all you are doing is quoting me out of context. There are no lies in any of my statements. You can continue to be an aggressive dick who cannot argue with positivist research or without using ad homiems, straw man arguments, red herrings if you want to but that just shows how truly pathetic you are. You can wish me a slow, painful death if you want to mate and I will just laugh in your face. I have determined that unless your next response to either the above discussion or this one here is something incredibly intelligent, you are not worth my time, you are a baby, you are massively arrogant and you are not able to engage in open minded conversation. Grow up buddy and get the fuck over yourself because you aren't as smart as you think.

    September 2011
  • Aryo

But you wrote it yourself - "Yes I have studied the fascist movement and it's history but mises involvement in it isn't everything to know about fascism." and you still have the impertinence to outright lie about what you wrote. That's beyond pathetic. I wish you a slow, painful death.

  • Harliquensfly

I never said he was a fascist you retard. I think you'll find it's you who are the troll since you cannot actually argue against me so you quote me out of context. You seriously need to get over yourself, grow up and learn what it means to have a consistent argument.

    September 2011
  • Aryo

Actually, it is you who is completely devoid of any arguments except "Mises was involved in fascism" - which is false, and which I pointed out, by referring you to the proper paper on the subject. You, instead, decided to troll on and throw idiotic non-sequiturs. Who's the bitch here? Not me.

    September 2011
  • Harliquensfly

Wow more ad hominems and straw man arguments. Tell me do you need to insult people because your self esteem is so low and you hope it might make you look better or is it because ....... well I can't come up with another reason. Get over yourself mate because you are not the intellectual god you think you are and your arguments, aren't actually that consistent.

    September 2011
  • Aryo

Mises was not involved in any "fascist movement". You have ridiculed yourself enough. Now get out of here, it's not a place for trolls and idiots.

    September 2011
  • Harliquensfly

I'm not trying to prove anything. I'm just looking for open minded debate (which you obviously cannot provide). Your insults and attempts to seem like an intellectual god do not intimidate me. Yes I have studied the fascist movement and it's history but mises involvement in it isn't everything to know about fascism. Not agreeing totally with austrian economics does not make me irrational it means I can think for myself and formulate my own theories and beliefs. You can use what ever ad hominems or straw man arguments or red herrings you want but you will not intimidate me. You are overly aggressive and quite arrogant in your communication. You haven't got all the answers and you don't even know my position of economics (other than I disagree with you). So before you start mouthing off learn who the fuck your dealing with.

  • Aryo

What are you trying to prove? Do you know the origins of Fascist movement? No. You don't, because you are a historical ignoramus. I recommend this paper by dr Ralph Raico http://mises.org/journals/jls/12_1/12_1_1.pdf Oh, and if you don't agree with Austrian economics, it does not make you a 'left-libertarian'. It makes you irrational - unless you give a thorough refute of all Austrian methodology in an academic journal.
