Last.fm is hideous: agree or disagree?

Am I the only one who can't stand that enormous red banner? If you agree that last.fm is due for an extreme makeover, then join my new group, Last.fm Makes My Eyes Bleed.

Awww I think it's relatively pretty.

  • You're not the only one, but I find the site design here to be pretty darn good.

BTW, don't know if you have one, but I find it incredibly amusing every time I see someone complain about Last.fm's design, only to find out they have a Myspace page. Especially a customized Myspace page.

  • I like red. And the design doesn't bother me at all, though I haven't really spent much time thinking about it.

I like the design. The banner is great especially if you are using a high resolution.

  • I'm guessing you didn't see the old design. The red banner IS the makeover.

I like the design, and I like red, but I'm not sure about the pink bits.

I too second the new design (I like it).

    He speaks the truth!

  • And I find todays little hearts adorable. I will consider it my own valentines day greeting!

  • I thought the hearts were funny. I wasn't particularly tripped out by the cuteness or anything.

  • I didn't care for the changes made to the artist pages at first, but it's growing onto me now and I'm getting used to it. Other than that, I really like the design.

  • I personally find nothing wrong with the huge red banner. Maybe it's just me but I don't care for the site's design unless it's really unbearable.

You can still see the hearts used on the AS site, e.g. http://www.audioscrobbler.net/forum/21716

  • It doesn't bother me at all. But I like red, so maybe that's why ;)

  • Well found a way to see the old design.

So being Im a new user to Last.FM I pondered what was the old design. Well I found it. And gotta agree I like the red way better.

This is a snapshot from January I believe.

That was the last.fm site, but there was also the audioscrobbler.com site, which I think more of us used before the merging of the two sites.

It had a cleaner look, see this link

although the width of the charts didn't normally look so lob-sided, but you get the idea.

well, to be honest I used RJ first, then I tried mine just to see and I was surprised to find that it worked, so it's a nice historical record of what my profile used to look like.
    lucky me?

Wow I forgot how shit-hot everything used to look in the audioscrobbler days. Bring it back I say. Bring it back.

You can't just replace avalyn2 in the url with your username. You need to go to http://web.archive.org/ then search for your audioscrobbler page, i.e www.audioscrobbler.com/user/Schrollum

    Good luck :)

  • Wow

    That design looks awesome.

I like the Last.fm design, but it would be really nice if you could choose from a list of chart styles. It would make the site look more personalized to your specific tastes.

  • I like it simple... Makes the refresh faster on my browser so I can load pages faster. Too many designs and special graphics just clutter up a page :-)
